About the Course:

The Paris Agreement’s ambition of net zero emissions by 2050 will require a fundamental systemic transformation of the global energy systems, in a period where global GDP is projected to double.

The urgent global energy transition presents dilemmas: ensuring energy security across 200+ countries while shifting from higher to lower-emission sources, balancing urgency with energy poverty elimination, mitigating pollution and climate change, protecting biodiversity and rethinking the global economy. This involves how companies create value and stay competitive during transformation.

BI and Rystad Energy are launching an executive class focused on the energy transition, aimed at empowering leaders and senior personnel to make an impact and deepen their understanding of the factors and interactions contributing to the energy transition.

The course will employ a systems thinking approach to examine energy ecosystems and foster collaboration among stakeholders. We’ll emphasize that corporations must integrate these issues into their decision-making for value creation and risk management.

Participants will deepen their understanding of the energy transition by collaborating with leaders to address strategic and managerial challenges, using Rystad Energy’s extensive dataset for engaging discussions. In the final two modules, you will work in smaller groups on case studies, presenting your findings to the class, with top management from your organizations invited to participate.

Who is this course for:

  • Leaders and senior personnel in the public and private energy sectors (10+ years experience)
  • Board members in the energy sector
  • Senior individuals in energy companies expected to take on leadership roles
  • Leaders in ancillary services (e.g., banking, insurance, consultancy)
  • Entrepreneurs in the energy sector

We strive to have a diverse composition of participants to trigger valuable networking and experience sharing during case work with dilemmas and 'wicked problems'.
