Jan Byrkjeland is a Co-Founder of Rystad Energy from 2004 and is currently a Senior Partner in the Advisory Department. He is a member our Executive Management Team and has had several key leadership roles in the firm, including Head of Consulting for many years. He has made a major contribution to Rystad Energy’s journey from a start-up to a renowned global energy knowledge house.
Jan has 25+ years of experience from the energy industry and has advised many international energy companies, oil services firms, technology companies, governments and investors. His areas of expertise include E&P valuations, infrastructure assessments, oilfield services, subsea markets and energy transition. Jan has led a number of large due diligence projects for international clients. Prior to joining Rystad Energy, Jan worked as Investment Manager at Northzone Ventures. Earlier in his career, Jan was an R&D Manager at ABB. Jan holds a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and an MBA from INSEAD , France.
