Mike McCormick joined Rystad Energy in 2014. Mike leads Rystad Energy’s New York consulting franchise. Prior to 2018, Mike was a senior client analyst, supporting Rystad Energy’s investor and financial services clients in New York and elsewhere in the Americas. Mike’s engagements typically center on global supply chains and infrastructure across traditional and low carbon energy.
Mike’s projects often have a capital markets angle, and he regularly supports corporate sponsors and institutional investors in financing, M&A, buyout and restructuring processes. Mike also advises energy producers and their suppliers on decarbonization strategy amid the energy transition.
Mike is a recognized expert in asset-heavy supply chains and regularly advises boards and C-level executives on markets and corporate strategy. He is a regular speaker at industry events and think tanks including the Baker Institute and Marine Money. Outside of his primary role, Mike continues to fulfil a lifelong passion for software by leading several in-house R&D efforts on big-data and operations research problems.
Prior to joining Rystad Energy, Mike worked as a research analyst covering upstream oil and gas companies in Colombia and Argentina. He holds a BSc in Energy, Business and Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
