Rystad Talks Energy - The future of supply chain is all in the relationships

Successful relationships between suppliers and their customers are often dubbed partnerships because they are mutually beneficial to both parties. The upstream industry's ever-changing economic cycles often show that this equilibrium is fragile, and as competition from nascent industries pressure resources, materials and dollars, the ways in which companies approach sourcing evolves.

One of those changes is a move from thinking about suppliers as partners to thinking about suppliers as a source of strategic advantage. In that shift, planning is not about diversifying risk by diversifying suppliers but about deepening relationships to create a mindset where companies jointly plan their futures together.

Our March edition of Rystad Talks Energy examined that shift, trends impacting the market, and the overarching theme "the future of supply chain is all in the relationships". We were honored to welcome Patience Stern, Director, Global Supply Chain Functional Delivery at Hess Corporation for our deep-dive discussion. Our experts provided market updates and a look into labor and supply chain trends and bottlenecks as well.
